Best Shaving Cream
One of the best shaving cream experience’s critical ingredients is undoubtedly shaving cream, regardless of whether you are using an electric razor or a traditional razor.
It can be a bit daunting to find the best shaving cream for you with many products on the market.
1.Taylor of Old Bond Street (TOBS)
- Taylor of Old Bond Street is 1 of the most popular and widely recommended brands of shaving cream.
- TOBS is a London-based company that has been producing high-quality grooming products for men since 1854.
- However, it is not considered a high-end brand by shaving enthusiasts (we’ll see why later).
- The quality and the performance of their products, especially for the price you’re paying, makes it hard to be ignored. They are suitable for wet beginners and veterans shavers.
- A 150 gram (5.3 oz) jar can be purchased for around € 13 to € 17, making it an excellent value for money.
- While a particular product’s performance is always a personal matter (up to a point), it’s safe to say that all TOBS shaving creams are great artists.
2.Castle Forbes
- Castle Forbes is a single Vale of Alford manufacturer in Scotland producing small batches of high-quality products such as shaving creams, aftershave balms and perfumes.
- Using only high-quality natural ingredients, Castle Forbes products exude quality just by looking at the packaging.
- Your shaving creams are luxurious: rich, wonderfully creamy lather that smells and performs well, leaving your skin well-nourished and conditioned.
- I’m even going to go as far as saying that Castle Forbes makes some of the best shaving creams out there.
- Even though they are priced knowingly higher than TOBS, for example (just over € 30 per jar).
- They are still great value for money as they come in 200 gram (6.8 oz) jars and are highly concentrated.
- The cream almost resembles a mild shaving soap with its thick texture. You only need a minor amount of the product for a complete shaving session.
3.Speick
- Speick is a small family business from Germany. For generations, it has produced cosmetics using only natural ingredients grown locally.
- All their products contain Valerian Celtica extract, a wild plant harvested from Austria’s mountains for its relaxing and calming properties.
- The Shaving Cream Speick is probably one of the unique products from all over this list and one of my favourites.
- Smooth after reading some rave reviews, I was still quite sceptical of a cheap shaving cream I’ve never heard of.
- It curved out to be one of the best shaving creams I have ever used, and it is now one of my must-have products.
- It is incredibly protective and polished, and the feeling of comfort during and after shaving is almost second to none.
4.Geo F. Trumper
- Another manufacturer from Great Britain that produces high-quality shaving creams is Geo F. Trumper.
- Priced similar to TOBS, their product line includes some significant variations, including the acclaimed coconut, violet, rose, sandalwood, lemon, and almond oil.
- They are also good value for money and come in 200 gram (6.8 OZ) jars and 75 gram (2.5 OZ) jars.
5.Real moss
- Made in Portugal and free of irritating and artificial ingredients, Royal Moss is another quality shaving cream that deserves some attention.
- With substantial amounts of glycerin and lanolin, it comes in several beautiful variations such as lavender, oakmoss, spiced citrus, or classic.
- As is the case with Speick’s shaving cream, it also requires a bit more work to lather, but nothing to detract from its good quality.
- With a price of € 14 – € 15 per 100 grams, it is not exactly cheap. Other than that, it delivers excellent cushioning and lubrication and produces excellent results in terms of effective ripping and comfort.
6.Truefitt & Hill
- Based in England, Truefitt & Hill (one-third of the Great Britain T) has been in the men’s grooming business since 1805.
- Their line of shaving creams comprises an extensive list of products, and they have a price very similar to that of other manufacturers such as TOBS or Trumper.
- Their line includes fragrances such as Trafalgar, 1805 or Grafton and also almond, lavender, rose, or sandalwood, to name a few.
- My experience with Truefitt and Hill was pretty inconsistent. I loved Grafton’s shaving cream.
- It has a beautiful fern fragrance and works excellent. The same goes for 1805, another tremendous scented.
- I, too, tried their Ultimate Comfort Shaving Cream, which is (almost) fragrance-free, but it just didn’t get along with my skin (even however it is marketed as a product suitable for sensitive skin).
- I also strained the West Indian smell and found it artificial and unpleasant. It also appeared to have a foamy consistency after foaming and did not provide enough lubrication.
